Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

1.      What are your Posted Business Hours?
We are open Monday thru Friday from 9 A.M. until 5 P.M., and Saturday from 9 A.M. until 12 P.M.

2.      What is your credit and income requirement?
We do not perform a credit check.  Your credit is not a consideration for financing here.  We do not have a minimum income requirement, and those on ssi and disability are also welcome.

3.      What are your requirements for financing approval?

    1. You must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
    2. You must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
    3. You must have six months residency in our selling area and at least one year in the state of Texas.
    1. You must provide proof of residency such as a current lease agreement or bill in your name that goes to your current address.
    2. You must provide proof of income such as a current payroll stub. Income from social security, disability, and retirement is acceptable.


Is my city within your selling area?
Our selling area extends a 60-mile radius from our dealership. If you live outside this radius, please call to see if we can approve your residency requirement.

4.      I and/or my spouse have had a vehicle financed through your company before that was reposessed or voluntarily surrendered. Will you finance my spouse or me on another vehicle?
Possibly. In most cases, we believe in second chances for customers; however this approval is granted on a case-by-case basis. Please call us to see if we can approve a second chance for you.

5.      What do I need to bring with me when I come to purchase a vehicle?
Our application is only one front and back page and includes mostly common information. We do require the names, telephone numbers, and complete street addresses of six friend's and/or relatives, so you may need to bring that information with you. You will also need your driver's license, the money for the complete down payment of the vehicle you have chosen, and your proof of residency and income.

6.      What is your insurance requirement?
Full Coverage insurance is required through the duration of the loan on all vehicles over the selling price of $4950. Full Coverage insurance is optional on vehicles priced $4950 and under; however, if you choose not to obtain full coverage insurance and the vehicle is wrecked, you will be obligated to continue paying for the vehicle.

7.      Do I have to get insurance before I leave with my vehicle?
We require that you provide insurance to us within one week of your purchase date. Please note that state law requires all vehicles on the road to be insured with liability insurance, and our liability ceases once the vehicles are sold.

8.      Does my down payment include Tax, Title, and Transfer Fees?
No, TT&L is not included in the down payment. For your convenience, we are able to finance a large portion of your sales tax for you, and the portion that is due up front may be deferred for up to two weeks from your purchase date.

9.      When will my first car payment be due?
Our payments are due once monthly and your first car payment will be due 30 days from your purchase date.

10.  Do you take trade-ins?
Yes! We can always accept trade-ins if they are running and you have a clear title. If you still owe money on your trade-in, we may or may not be able to take it depending on your balance owed. Sorry, but we are unable to take trade-ins that are not running or that cannot be brought to our dealership. If you have a trade-in with a clear title, you will need to bring your title with you at the time of purchase.

11.  Do you sell a warranty on your vehicles?
We do not sell warranties on the vehicles. We encourage you to take the vehicle that you are interested in buying in to your mechanic or to someone you trust to have it checked before you purchase it. All of the vehicles we sell have been checked at the mechanic shop on premises, and we believe all of them to be in good mechanical condition before they are brought to the car lot to sell.

12.  Can I use the mechanic shop on premises to have repairs done to my vehicle?
Of course! The mechanics on premises are not employed by Car Town Motors, but they are willing to take our customer work and pass along the same savings they give us to our customers. Many times, your mechanical work can be done at a fraction of the cost that other shops charge. Please note that Car Town Motors does not make a profit from work done through the mechanic shop on premises, and price quotes, appointments, etc., must be made through their office. 13.  How often do you get in new vehicles?
We bring new vehicles in every day. You may call our office at any time to have a current vehicle listing sent to you by fax, email, or use the navigation menus above to view the current inventory.
